BODY ORNAMENT

Studies in decorating the body and tectonics

Body Ornament is a catalogue of projects exploring the intimacy and tectonics of the human body through acts of adornment. Each piece investigates how objects meet the skin—how they press, hang, wrap, or hover—and the ephemeral effects they produce in motion, sensation, and perception. Through this work, the body is understood not as a fixed form, but as a dynamic surface where scale, material, and spatial relationships are continuously negotiated.

Positioning the body as the origin of architectural thinking, this research reexamines measurement, proportion, and assembly at their most immediate scale. By studying how surfaces join, shift, and respond on the body, Body Ornament reframes space as something felt before it is seen—grounding architecture in the lived, tactile experience of the human form and expression.
